Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify stores your credit card information. This information is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only for as long as necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After the transaction is completed, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards established by PCI-DSS, as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint initiative of brands including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure that credit card information is handled securely by our store and its service providers.

_session_id – Unique token; session-based. Allows Shopify to store information about your session, such as the referring page and landing page.

_shopify_visit – No data stored; persistent for 30 minutes after the last visit. Used by our website provider's internal statistics tracker to record the number of visits.

_shopify_uniq – No data stored; expires at midnight relative to the visitor's location on the following day. Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.

cart – Unique token; persistent for 2 weeks. Stores information about the contents of your shopping cart.

_secure_session_id – Unique token; session-based.

storefront_digest – Unique token; unlimited duration. Used to determine whether the current visitor has access when the store is password-protected.
